Masterclass by IFCN: Clinical Neurophysiology in Neuropathic Pain

Professor Satu Jääskeläinen will present:

Clinical Neurophysiology in Neuropathic Pain: the Example of Burning Mouth Syndrome

This masterclass will give an overview on the use of clinical neurophysiology (CN), psychophysics, and neuropathology in the diagnosis of chronic pain. It will also offer a guideline for diagnostic work-up of neuropathic pain. Elucidation of burning mouth syndrome with several imaging methods guided by neurophysiology and psychophysics serves as an example of the scientific utility of systematic application of CN techniques in the study of an enigmatic clinical pain condition.
