Dear NVKNF Members,

It is now time to mark your calendar and register for our next Masterclass by IFCN on Saturday 18 September 2021 at 8:00 AM EDT (2:00 PM CET). Erik Stålberg and Professor Don Sanders will present:

Single-Fiber EMG: Old and New Aspects

Erik Stålberg and Don Sanders will make a presentation of old and new aspects of Single Fiber EMG, including a brief history of the development of the technique and basic principles. They will discuss recording with single fiber vs concentric needle electrodes, voluntary vs stimulation activation, voltage level vs peak detection triggering, reference values, and the use, sensitivity and specificity of jitter measurements in the diagnosis of myasthenia gravis. The session will include a dialog regarding the use of jitter measurements.

The Masterclass by IFCN presentations were created in response to a call from IFCN member societies for more high quality, complimentary, online educational content. The series will provide a new presentation every month from top clinical neurophysiologists around the world, and each will include time for discussion with the lecturer following the presentation.

Providing the best in contemporary clinical neurophysiology education delivered in the most optimal format is the primary educational goal of the IFCN. As such, Masterclass by IFCN is available complimentary to all registrants. Our previous lectures can be viewed on our website if you are not able to join us live.

Registration is now open. The Masterclass by IFCN series have been organized on Zoom.com, a very easy-to-use webinar application. Please allow yourself 5 – 10 minutes to get set up before the start of the webinar.
